Sadie is inspired by Sade Tanner Mossell. She was the first black woman admitted to the University of Pennsylvania Law School, the first female to graduate from that law school and the first to be admitted into the Pennsylvania Bar. In 1947 Sadie was appointed to President Truman’s Committee of Human rights where she worked to establish the concept of national civil rights policies. She spent her life working hard to break barriers and make a way for others.
